Eagles Defy Abuja Rains to Train, as Euro Pros Arrive

At least four foreign-based players arrived the Super Eagles Bolton White Apartment camp as at 6pm, as the team defied the heavy downpour in the nation's capital for its first training session with stars from Europe on Monday evening.
The torrential rainfall had started about two hours to training time and was sustained but subdued as at 4pm, when players and officials started strolling into the team's bus for the day's business, which held at the training pitch of the Abuja National Stadium.
As has now become the tradition, Chelsea's new acquisition Victor Moses, was the first to arrive camp and was closely followed by another stickler for time, Obiorah Nwankwo, who plays his football in Italy. The duo were the only foreign-based that trained with the 13 homes-based stars in camp in Monday's evening training.

By the time the team reached camp, hotshot, Ikechukwu Uche, had reached the apartment, same for defence ace Elderson Echejile.

Many more were expected before dinner time and Head Coach Stephen Keshi, says all the players will take part in Tuesday's evening training.

"Only Vincent Enyeama is expected on Wednesday for a reason but we should be good by Tuesday evening," he said.

Officials are predicting a difficult game for Nigeria, going by the poor state of the Samuel Kanyon Doe Stadium pitch, but Keshi has assured that Liberians are very friendly and he expects a good but bruising encounter.

"No game is easy again, either in Africa and the world but we would do our best to get the result that Nigerians want," he declared.
