300 Civil Servants to access Morgage loan in Borno

The Managing Director, Federal Morgage Bank, Malam Gimba Ya’u Kumo has expressed support and assistance for the Borno state government in area of housing-loan to civil servants in the state.
The Managing director said, the state civil servants could not enjoy the loan because the state opted out of the contribution scheme sometimes ago.
He said the state civil servants have contributed well over three hundred million Naira before they were forced to stop contributing to the scheme by the labour union.
He said they have decided to return to Borno state to open shops just to meet the needs of low income earners, who could not afford housing for themselves.

While responding, Governor Kashim Shettima thanked the MD for choosing to return to Borno state to operate despite security challenges.
He said, he has already met with the leadership of the labour union on the need to resume contribution to the scheme.
“I have also concluded arrangement to grant the request of 500 hecters of land for their operations in Borno.”
