ALI Nasser Mohamed, Yemen's defence minister, was severely injured when two car bombs hit his convoy in central the capital Sanaa yesterday.
A senior investigating security official told Xinhua at the scene that "Mohamed was rushed to the hospital after he was critically wounded in the terrorist attack in which two bomb cars targeted his convoy after he went out from the building of the Cabinet where he attended along with other ministers the weekly meeting with Prime Minister Mohamed Salem Basindwa."
No fewer than seven of the defence minister's bodyguards and three passers-by were killed, security officials told Xinhua.
