Nigerian police have failed in resolving most – if not all – the high profile assassination that the country has witnessed in recent years. But the question is: Can a movie do so? Spirit of the Assassin, an action-packed thriller directed by Andy Boyo and co-produced by Kingsley Esele, Bunmi Okafor and Faith Stephen, answers the poser in the positive.
Produced for Diamond Pictures, the film that just toured South African cinemas alongside Untamed is getting set for Nigerian cinemas, with Boyo saying that it promises to be a hit.
According to him, both were shown at the Maponya Mall in Soweto and Sterkinekor Theatres, the largest cinema chain in South Africa. They were also at the Pioneer Mall in Maseru, capital of Lesotho and the Arcades, tucked in the heart of Lusaka, the serene capital of Zambia.
Starring in Spirit of the Assassin are notable Nollywood actors such as Yemi Blaq, Frederick Leonard, Constance Okoro, Boyo, Hakeem Rahman and Faith Stephen.
Filled with intrigues and romance, Untamed revolves around the controversial same sex marriage in Africa. It features Patience Ozokwor, Van Vicker, Chinwe Isaac, Deborah King and a host of other talents.
